Using the Maps on "www.streetmap.co.uk"

The good folks at "www.streetmap.co.uk", the superb site that we link to to provide our maps for meeting points, seem to have a problem automatically switching to the OS 1:25,000 (Landranger) mapping that is most useful when trying to find the right car park. This article will help you to unravel the mysteries of the zoom controls on the map display.

First locate the zoom controls, they can be found just under the bottom right-hand corner of the map and look like this:

To switch to a larger scale map (that is covering a smaller area in more detail), simply click on the "+".

To switch to a smaller scale map (that is covering a larger area in less detail), simply click on the "-".

The order of the maps should be (from largest scale to smallest):

  1. Street map
  2. OS 1:25,000 (Landranger)
  3. Motoring Atlas

Should the OS map not be displayed, then you can jump to it directly by clicking on the middle chevron between the "+" and the "-" (shown in yellow in the picture above).
